URI Vs URL

URI can be described as the identification of something whereas URL can be described as identification as well as location of something.

So we can say that URI is a kind of super class to URL, in other words URL's are a subset of URI's. Your name can be your URI that it identifies you whereas your address can be your URL as it indirectly identifies you (your's address) as well as tells your location.
